Local MINI and BMW retailer, Specialist Cars Group, is delighted to have recently been ranked in The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 for the second year running. The league table, which was published in October last year, ranks Britain's mid\-market growth private companies based on sales, with the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire\-based business securing the 199th position, up from 218th position last year.
To be placed within this league, Grant Thornton Top Track 250 companies must have sales between £140m and £650m, employ between 100 and 5,000 staff, and are predominantly owned and run by families and entrepreneurs. Specialist Cars Group, which is owned and run by local entrepreneurs Michael Donovan and Clive Fletcher, started life in the 1970s as a subsidiary of Volkswagon Audi in Stevenage, and has since become a BMW and MINI retailer and aftersales specialist, with two further sites in Luton and Tring. Across the three locations it employs 350 staff, and creates a significant number of jobs across the Hertfordshire and Bedforshire area.
Clive Fletcher, Managing Director, says “We are extremely proud to be acknowledged in the Top Track 250 league. Our success is testament to the hard work and dedication that our team shows to the business, and thanks to them we are now ranked against high profile high street names, such as Virgin Active, Warburtons and Pret A Manager.”
